Matching a clutch kit to your tires and elevation
A Can-Am's CVT is tuned at the factory for stock tire size and sea-level air density. Change either one and the primary and secondary clutches shift at the wrong RPM — the machine bogs off the line, the belt slips and runs hot, and the engine never quite reaches its powerband. A clutch kit replaces the primary clutch weights (and often a secondary spring or helix) to re-tune engagement and shift points for the load you're actually running.

Elevation stacks on top of tire size: a machine that runs fine on a 31" tire at sea level can still bog at 6,000+ ft because the thinner air cuts power the same way a heavier tire adds load.
